Focused on the sensitivity to climate change and the special mechanical characteristics of undisturbed expansive soil, an elastc-plastic damage constitutive model was proposed based on the mechanics of unsaturated soil and the mechanics of damage. Undisturbed expansive soil was considered as a compound of non-damaged part and damaged part. The behavior of the non-damaged part was described using non-linear constitutive model of unsaturated soil. The property of the damaged part was described using a damage evolution equation and two yield surfaces, i.e., loading yield (LY) and shear yield (SY). Furthermore, a consolidation model for unsaturated undisturbed expansive soil was established and a FEM program named UESEPDC was designed. Numerical analysis on solid-liquid-gas tri-phases and multi-field couple problem was conducted for four stages and fields of stress, displacement, pore water pressure, pore air pressure, water content, suction, and the damage region as well as plastic region in an expansive soil slope were obtained. 相似文献

Understanding the role of shuttle vibrations in pore fluid distribution is an essential task in the exploration of plant growth
in root modules aboard space flights. Results from experimental investigations are reported in this paper on the distribution
of immiscible fluid phases in glass beads under vibrations. Hexadecane, a petroleum compound immiscible with and lighter than
water, was used in the experiments. The higher freezing point of Hexadecane (18 °C) allowed the solidification of the entrapped
blobs in the presence of water in porous media, so that their size distribution can be obtained. van Genuchten function, commonly
used to express moisture retention curves, is found to be an adequate fit for blob size distribution at residual saturation.
The effect of vibrations on the fate (mobilization, stranding, or breakup) of a solitary ganglion in porous media was studied
using a network model. A mobility criterion considering viscous, gravity, and capillary forces was developed to determine
the fate of a solitary ganglion in a porous medium. It is concluded that the effect of vibrations is to increase the likelihood
of breakup and mobilization of blobs entrapped in porous media at residual saturation. The pore fluid distributions after

A class of recently developed explicit algebraic stress models based on tensorially quadratic stress--strain relations [7] is subjected to a systematical realizability analysis. It is found that these models, which are of particular interest for their rigorous derivation from linear second-moment closure models, tend to produce inappropriate unrealizable results like negative turbulence energy components, even in simple shear flows. The cause of the defect is identified in conjunction with a set of realizability-furnishing constraints on the model coefficients. With the exception of the silent normal stress component in accelerated flow, the nature and rationale of the explicit algebraic stress model suggested by Gatski and Speziale [7] can be extended to maintain the realizability principle. Results obtained from the corresponding quasi-realizable quadratic eddy-viscosity model are reported in comparison with other nonlinear modelling practices. 相似文献
